The word “psychology” comes from the Greek words psyche (meaning “soul” or “mind”) and logos (meaning “study” or “discourse”). So, psychology literally means the study of the soul or mind. Over time, the term evolved to refer to the scientific study of the mind, behavior, and mental processes.
