History’s always been fascinating to me, so here I am, teaching and talking about it for decades.

My hope with this textbook is that you find something in it that sparks your interest in history, and inspires you to continue learning.

The other goal I had when creating this book was to make it accessible, readable, and most importantly, free for you, the student. Education is valuable, and it’s also expensive. In my small way, I want to make it easier for more people to reach their goals, both in this class and ultimately, in their lives.
